Darrell Thompson, Coca-Cola Consolidated, Inc
Darrell Thompson is currently the Sr. Vice President of Information Technology & CIO serving Coca-Cola Consolidated, Inc., the largest Coca-Cola bottler in the United States. He has strategic and operational responsibility for development and operations of the Company’s IT platforms and business solutions to support Consolidated’s franchise territory. He and his team support 17,000 + teammates in 14 states and the District of Columbia. Darrell moved into his current role in early 2015 and has been focused on supporting the growth and transformation of the Company through its refranchising efforts with The Coca-Cola Company. Darrell has been with Coca-Cola Consolidated for 34 years, with 26 years of experience in IT with positions ranging from project management, application delivery / portfolio management, and development of their technology strategy. He spent his first 8 years with the Company in Internal Audit and Finance. A Charlotte, NC native and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (1988), he received the 2020 Charlotte CIO of the Year ORBIE Award for the Enterprise category. He currently serves as the Vice Board Chair for Apparo and as a District Committee Chair, Mecklenburg County Scouting America (formerly the Boy Scouts of America).
